Does the Dell Inspiron N5040 require a *7mm* SATA drive?

Or is a 9mm drive fine?

Are most 2.5" SATA drives nowadays 7mm?

Yes most laptops today use the 7mm drive, and some SSD drives do include an adapter plate for 9MM if needed.
