Simple answer, yes.
Some screens are affected, depends on the screen though.
I've not heard of so many issues with a 14.1" XGA screens. these standard 1280x800 resolution screens seem to be fine. Mine was an AUO brand and it was a beauty.
on my second vostro, I opted for the 14.1" XGA+ screen, this is the 1440x900 model.
AUO was grainy in this model.
The first SEC i got in this model was grainy but replacement was good as far as grain go.
The LG in this model had grain.
My current SEC and 2 i've had since have been grain free and good screens.
Just note, that all 14.1" screens, XGA and XGA+ that I've had (and i've had pretty much all) suffered from crappy viewing angles. -
it depends on the manufacturer of the screen.....and since dell has contract with many manufacturers.....ppl will have different experience with their screens.....i have an inspiron 1420 for myself and havent yet noticed any graininess or stuff like that
Does the Grainy problem effect inpiron 1420's too?
