    Does vostro 1700 come with windows vista CD?

    And if not is there anyway i can request it? E.g. if i wanted to format the laptop as soon as it arrived and then reinstall from scratch

    the vostro's do not come with the oem discs... but yes you can request one.. just be sure to double check they didnt charge you for it when it ships..

    They never charge you for it. The pricing is just for internal purposes.

    it comes with the re-installation ones but not the actual "vista" disc itself..

    No, mine came with the actual Vista disk. I received my notebook a little over a week ago.
