I'm not too happy with my Studio 17 because there is a small area on the very edge near the touchpad that feels hollow and loose, and when I put my palm on that edge it moves and it squeaks, or creaks a bit. I can actually press on it and it moves as if nothing is under it in that spot.
Does anyone else have this problem? I would think that for the price Dell charges that they could have made sure there were no hollow spots around the edges. Especially in the area where your palms rest.
Im worried that one of these days that spot is going to crack. Its a very poor design in my opinion.

Nope, no squeaks or creaks on mine - I got dual hard drives though, maybe that fills up the 'hollow' area you're referring to?

yup, the front edge of mien where the silver upper area meets the black lower area has a very slight 'lip' to it and moves maybe 1mm when pushed. Not noticeable during normal use, but if you pick it up and put pressure on that part as you lift it, you can feel it move. I try to remember to pick it up by the sides, just in case.

yes it does
Does your Studio 17 squeak and creak near the touchpad?
