I'm so scared my cpu/motherboard is going to burn up just because I use a program for a couple hours, or using the laptop on my coushioned ottomon.
    I have a Dell 1500

Lol..dont worry too much. I fell asleep with a vaio on my bed once. It was hot enough to be burning my leg when I woke up but it's still going today..and this was over a year ago.

If you're worried get a laptop cooler but they really aren't that bad.

Yeah, I don't think it's that easy to burn out a laptop these days. I've left my 500m on for days at a time in various locations and it's still fine as well.

Frankly I think if you just use some common sense you'll be alright. Like don't intentionally leave it outside at noon on a blistering hot day... and if you've got doubts about a certain situation, just don't do it.

(Of course if you've got complete care or something there's nothing to worry about :D)

Well I leave my notebook on always unless I'm traveling.

I wouldn't suggest taking your laptop swimming.

And most laptops don't like drunken typing..... A friend once puked on his laptop... not a pretty sight.

    I leave my D820 on 24/7 - runs great.

Don't worry about it and get a warranty.

Ur laptop won't get dehydrated so never let it drink whatever kind of drinks, Pepsi, Cola, Ice Tea, and such are all included in the not to let em drink list.
