I'm not nostalgic about XP, but I really need XP on my machine since MDsolids only runs in XP. I coudn't have the Vostro because of financial issues, and I will be reaciving an Inspiron 1520 this week with Vista.
I want to give Vista a chance and keep it. I have the drivers for the SATA HD, the chip set and everything Dell offers. I know that Blutooth can have some problems as well as the S-video if I install XP. Since I only need XP for runing engineering programs, I won't be bother if some hardware is not functioning well.
Can someone tell me how to install XP in a partition so that when I turn on the laptop it will ask me which OS I want to use?
If is posseble to have a clean procedure, step y step, foolproof, ISO9002 quality, it will be much appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp This is what I used to learn how to do it with Vista installed first. Pretty easy guide to follow and it works.
