Hello,
after reformatting, my CD/DVD drive changed from D: to E:
is there a way to rename the drive?
Edit: can any1 offer an explanation as to why this happened? this didn't happen last reformat, and the only significant change i did this reformat was apply the FlashBIOS update; i followed the reformatting guide posted here and have MediaDirect 2.0 (which I have not repaired at the time)

I don't think it is possible to change it back, although I am not sure. The reason it probably happened, is because when you formatted, Windows or yourself, may have made a second partition on the drive. A drive letter would have probably been assigned to that, that pushed the CD/DVD drive down to E.

You can change them... but probly not to what you want (read C
because Windows assigned it to the "ghost" MD or diag. tools partitions.
Anyway, to check and change them right-click on My Computer, Manage, Storage, Disk Management.
Good luck. -
nvm, thanks for the help but I found this and was able to rename the drive:

still don't know why it changed the drive letter but it was not the diagnostics - that still remained letter-less
