Hi, I would like to reformat and reinstall Windows XP on my new Dell Inspiron e1705. However, I bought the computer on eBay and I was wondering if there's a way to get the driver/application CDs for the reformat?

You can call dell and request the discs, or go to support.dell.com and make your own drivers disc.

l found that all you need is the red xp recovery disk if your e1705 came with one (if not get one from dell) and throw the drivers on a flash drive. For some reason the drivers on my disk were saying that they were not compatible with my laptop so l got the current ones off dells support section and threw em on a flash drive and installed from there. Worked fine :D

the simplest route is to download the NIC driver for your computer. once you reformat and install the NIC driver, you can access dell's support page and get the rest.
