Hi, I would like to reformat and reinstall Windows XP on my new Dell Inspiron e1705. However, I bought the computer on eBay and I was wondering if there's a way to get the driver/application CDs for the reformat?

You can call dell and request the discs, or go to support.dell.com and make your own drivers disc.

l found that all you need is the red xp recovery disk if your e1705 came with one (if not get one from dell) and throw the drivers on a flash drive. For some reason the drivers on my disk were saying that they were not compatible with my laptop so l got the current ones off dells support section and threw em on a flash drive and installed from there. Worked fine

the simplest route is to download the NIC driver for your computer. once you reformat and install the NIC driver, you can access dell's support page and get the rest.
