    Hello all,
    About one month after receiving my notebook, I've decided to try and play some games on it, only to find out I have some serious problems with it.
    I've tried two different games, and the result is the same in both - the computer will hang about 1 minute after launching the game and only hard shutdown is possible (holding the power button).
    After doing a little analysis of the memory dump, I found out the graphics driver is the one to blame.
    Code:
    On Tue 13-Oct-09 20:09:09 your computer crashed
    This was likely caused by the following module: atikmdag.sys
    Bugcheck code: 0x117 (0xFFFFFA8003FD74E0, 0xFFFFF88003CFF814, 0x0, 0x0)
    Error: VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\atikmdag.sys
    product: ATI Radeon Family
    company: ATI Technologies Inc.
    description: ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver
    The system is a fully updated (well, to be honest, I'm installing today's updates right now, but I don't think it'll make a difference) Studio 1555 running Windows 7 x64 RTM, and the same thing happens with both the modded Catalyst 9.9 driver and the latest driver from Dell (based on Catalyst 9.7).

    Any ideas of on how to resolve this issue or some other things I should look into?
    Thanks in advance, Adam.

    * Edit *
    Turns out I was not really using the modded Catalyst version, as I actually modded the beta mobility driver, which is different from the normal radeon driver.
    That being said, I've installed the true modded radeon driver, but it's too late to try it now, so I'll update tomorrow.

    And, not too big a surprise, the correct modded driver also doesn't work.
    I found out this is a known problem that can be caused be many things, however, considering it's a notebook and all it's components came from one place, I think all the components should play nice together.

    Did you try removing all the drivers and cleaning anything that was left before installing (registry entries, etc)?

    That was actually next on my to-do list, will probably try it later today or tomorrow :)

    * EDIT *
    Will probably wait until catalyst 9.10 is out, which should happen pretty soon.

    Well, catalyst 9.10 installed.
    Problem still there.
    Weird thing is I noticed the computer halts at the exact same point every time I run the game (trying to run benchmark so it's easy to follow).
