How do you know what file is for what device? Everything looks so random.

Which drivers? What drivers? which OS? what is the website? What are you looking for specifically?

    ftp.dell.com

Lists all, they do have folders like input, sound etc..but they are randomly listed inside.

But why do you want to go all the way there? I mean directly to the ftp list??

Why don't you get it from the Dell drivers n downloads section??? using your service tag may be? Or searching for the driver you need??

Anyway, for the FTP site... what I usually do is, I check the driver names from the driver n downloads website for my system.. I check the names from the 'green' download button.. and then if I cannot get it from there, I browse through to the FTP site and get it from the folder depending on what I was looking for... either sound or video or whatever.... Of course I know this is not probably giving you the exact answer but at least something...

By the way, some drivers do have file names withing them.. like the Roxio for example... but not all... so the best bet is to get them from the drivers n downloads section...
