So I bought my m1330 about 2 months ago with the 1 year complete care service. Approx. 2 days ago I dropped my laptop and it cracked the casing on the side of LCD. The crack does not affect the functioning of the laptop. There is, however, a large amount of flex when i open the lid of the laptop and soon enough, im sure, it will snap.

Am I still covered by DELL? Or should I...'drop' it again...

    Thanks guys!

does your cover protect against accidental damage??

Companies are usually pretty good in determining if the damage was a manufacturing fault or done by the user. Personally I wouldnt risk dropping it again. You could end up with a dead laptop on your hands, and Dell refusing to fix it!

If you dont have accidental damage cover, I doubt Dell will sort out the crack etc. It needs to be a hardware fault for them to do anything about it.

Complete care covers ANYTHING accidentally done to the laptop, So if you dropped it ands its cracked you can get it repair or you can keep it just dont go past your one year warranty without getting it fixed if you want it fixed

In that case, I'd just send it in and get it fixed now! ;)

I thought it covered everything from dropping it to spilling your drink on it. Just call Dell and aks them if they can fix it.

    1. Don't drop it again.
    2. Call Dell and see what they'll do.
    3. Don't drop it again.
    4. Enjoy your fixed laptop.

Thanks alot guys for the quick help! The only reason i was asking was because when i was reading up on Dell's Complete Care PDF it said that any cosmetic damage that does not affect the functioning of the laptop, is not covered.

Ill just have to call and see, thanks again!
