I have had Two Dell 2407 (1900x1200) with Lenovo T61P (triple monitors actually, incl laptop screen) for a couple of years without any problem. To drive the external monitors I use the Lenovo Advanced Dock and a video card.
With a few more new laptops on the market since 2 years ago, has anyone tried to run the Triple monitor setup without docking station, such as in using HDMI and Display Port together to drive 2 monitors? Display Port itself is supposed to daisy chain. Has anyone done it? I need to drive 2 external monitors with at least 1600x1200, so DVI output and not VGA output is essential. I know I can do that easily with any desktop but I would like to use a notebook to drive 2 high relatively high resolution monitors. The laptop screen itself does not need high resolution.
By the way, the above setup is not doable with Lenovo T400 or T500 as it even has problem with docking station. Hope Dell can do it without docking station.
