Works fine with mine. I've tried VGA and S-Video, both work great.

I have a Sony 32in HD, will I be able to hook up my I9300 to my TV? I know that I could with my desktop, but I don't move that very much anymore...due to the weight and size, so when I network these computers I was wondering if my movies will display properly. Thanks in advance.

I don't see why not. Check to find out what kind of inputs your TV has. There are DVI/HDMI conversion cables that should let you get a crisp image (but I don't think they're very cheap). If not, there might be DVI/component adapters as well. With the right adapter you should be able to do whatever you want. :)

Wow...thanks for the info, I don't get into to much of the home video stuff...I know that when I used the RCA cables off my last TV to my computer it didn't look very good...cause it wasn't HD. I very much appreciate your input. Thanks.

No problem. I've been learning lots about all this stuff lately. I've never tried an HDTV hookup, but I've checked up on which plugs do what. Here are some links to stuff I've found.. there are adapter cables that can do just about anything, which is very convenient considering some newer laptops might not have old connectors anymore - it isn't hopeless!

    DVI/HDMI Cable:

    VGA/Component Cable (Expensive!)

S-Video/Composite (I just ordered this, it shows up tomorrow)

I discovered a strange quirk when trying to hook my notebook up to my TV last week. Apparently, not all S-Video adapters are standard. Some video cards (my old ATi, for example) used a 7-pin S-Video connection, while the "norm" is usually a 4-pin connector. My i9300 uses a 4-pin adapter for the S-Video port, so anyone looking for an appropriate adapter should make sure that you're getting a 4-pin and not a 7-pin. They look almost exactly the same. I'm hoping that the one I ordered is 4-pin!

Dual screening is cool. Especially when working with several apps at one time (I guess that's the whole purpose). How much is a decent, flat pannel 17" monitor go for these days? (If anyone knows off the top of their head).

Pretty much in the 180.00+ range.

However you'd want one with at LEAST 8ms.
