but I did not find an answer to my question. Vostro comes with 4 partitions...VISTA, Media, Recover and 4thCode:http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=150033![]()
I suppose that mediadirect works perfectly. My question is how to install dualboot XP and Vista with mediadirect to be a fully functional?
I maean destroy all of partitions and then WHAT...I would need 3 partition? 1 for vista 2 for xp and 3 for mediadirect for vista? Is that true?THX for your tips guys.

You can make as many partitions as you want. I deleted recovery and VISTA, kept Media and Partition 4. I then split the merged space evenly into C and G. C right now is running XP, and I don't know what to do with G. Media direct is untouched... but I never got it to work with Vista either and I haven't tried it with a dual-boot set up.

Doesn't Vista support up to 4 partitions.

Even XP can handle more than 6 partitions...Don't need to say about Vista -
Actually, there is a limit of 4 primary partitions (but you can have more logical partitions). There are already 4 primary partitions in Vostro. You'll have to delete one to make room for the XP installation.
