Go easy on me. I'm new here and looking for a laptop as my solo computer. Main use is photo editing with photoshop and Adobe lightroom.
I'm not familiar with the advatages of a Latitude esp the new 6510. I was looking at an XPS 16 but turned off with some of the potential issues.

Please give me all your thoughts and opinions on the new 6510 and how you would configure it for me for photo editing. My budget is $3200 Canadian I can stretch that a bit but not enough for a Precision M4500.

Thanks in advance for you help and assistance.

The Latitude is, well, a Latitude. ;) That means 3-year warranty, better build quality, docking support, and longer product lifecycles (ie. more driver updates). The graphics card in it is also a Nvidia Quadro, which might perform a bit better than consumer graphics cards.

How are you coming up w/ that? The Dells are running i7 dual/quadcore setups, full HD screens, and even a 3yr warranty(6510) for the price of a 15" MBP. You can also get more recent video cards on Dells which when coupled w/ their faster processor means significantly better performance than the Core2 powered Apple.

There's no reason to switch from Windows to Mac for photo editing. Windows will be just as adequate for the job, and the Latitude is much superior to the overpriced Crapple products, not to mention more cost-effective too.
