I was just looking at the replacement battery selection on dell.com and noticed that there are no replacement batteries for the E1505. Since all batteries eventually loose their charge and thus require a replacement, this could be a problem.

    Any Ideas?

I looked a few weeks back, all they had was the charger for the 6400, look at ebay, you'll find lots of new dell branded batteries for your machine around $70 shipped

I bought a battery last year for my 5000e. (6 yr. old model) So, I don't think finding an after-market solution will be a problem.

No, the 6000 batteries won't fit in the 6400 (tested by my own with the 53Whr battery). They look only similar the same and even the electrical specifications are the same, the case is not equal (a nose is different), so they won't fit.
