Did Dell ever make quicksnap covers for the E1405/640m? My girlfriend's new E1405 came in today, and we want to install a cover like I have on my E1505. I cannot find anywhere a compatable cover.

AFAIK, they don't. The snapcovers are for the larger laptops (15in/17in). There are a couple of other options though. For one, you might try your snap cover on her laptop to see if it fits. Another option is going with sticker type cover. Chaz did a review awhile back on a company that makes sticker cover and you can choose the image you want on it. It is suppose to be very durable. In fact, I think Chaz still uses his. I'll try to find a link for you if you are interested in that.

Because my wife and I both have E1405's we bought the SkinIt covers from the link through Dell. Me being a huge Spider-Man fan bought that, my wife got the generic pink one.

They went on easily and work very well -- they also seem durable. I can take pictures later if you'd like.

Also, you can find a bunch of skins at http://dell.skinit.com/skins. These are "stickers" you can apply and include the model I640m/E1405.

ah, I'll investigate that, I was hoping for the quicksnap, since it adds another layer of plastic to the backing of the screen.

She's picked out a notebook skin as her case, its a form fitting case that just provides a layer of neoprene between the laptop and the outside world, so I was just looking to bulk up the back of the screen of the machine incase the worst happens.

We would have gotten accident protection on her laptop, but we live in fl, not to say she'd drop it, but [IMG]

I'll check out the skinits and other decal based products, I think she'd like to customize the look of her laptop, and I guess at the same time they'll protect against scratching.

    Thanks guys/gals.
