    Hi Guys,

I just ordered an E1405 but now recently I have been seeing comments saying it is very ugly looking, very thick and not worth at all. Rather XPS M1210 is a better option. Should I really cancel my order and spend 300-400$ extra for M1210 with the similar configuration but better looks, weight and size??

I am really very confused??? Is Inspiron E1405 that bad?????

No it's not ugly / bad, and if you're a first time notebook buyer a 14" is usually better than a 12.1" because it's hard to get adjusted to smaller screen sizes. And if you don't need a 12.1" screen portable notebook, it's silly to get such a small laptop.

It's more important to buy a notebook that fits your needs with its size and features, not something that is getting more props for good looks and being small.

On the thickness the bottom is thick but its not too thick. My aunt has one and while I was using it I thought it was a good size on my lap (but i'm only 4'11"). I don't remember the details on how much it weighed...

It all depends on how much you care about looks, I haven't seen it in person but from what I've seen from pictures it looks nice, better than the 1405.

As to regards on the sizes....I have the 1405 now and it seemed alittle heavier than 5lbs but not as heavy as 7lbs even with the adapter. Just try it out for a few days to see if you like it or not. If not, then call dell for upgrade. But its not worth 300-500 more for the price. The M1210 only has a built in camera and better exterior casing...besides that it can handle 2gbx2 for ram.

Um, the M1210 also has dedicated graphics, and thats a pretty significant difference.
