Their hardware specs are pretty much the same but the prices are so different (about 500$ difference). Only the LCD size and weight is quite different from each other that means M1210 is more portable than E1405. But I am not sure if it's worth 500$ difference.

Please help me decide which one to purchase, Thanks.

The dedicated card, better service, better build quality, added features and such are worth $500, however, if you're going to be willing to spend $1700 I wouldn't get either. Why don't you fill out the FAQ and we can try to find something that'd fit your needs.

integrated graphics == poor gaming. don't get the e1405 (or M1210 w/ integrated graphics) and expect games to play well.

xps suppot is a LOT better than the Inspiron support. I know...XPS diagnosed a computer problem for me in about an hour...fixed within three days. Girlfriend's Inspiron 9100 needed a motherboard replacement and it took them three days and quite a few calls to get them to acknowledge the problem.

then they sent the laptop back to the wrong address. it worked out okay, but it was a little annoying.

Morality selected dedicated graphics in both configurations and stated word and internet were particularly important. Perhaps dedicated graphics are not a high priority in this case. If it is Morality then the XPS1210 is hands down your choice.

I suggest reading the reviews on this site for the XPS M1210 and E1405 (The model numbers should turn into links that will take you right to them) but I'll list my take on it.

    E1405

-Larger Screen with available high resolution
    -Full Size Keyboard
    -Runs cool
    -Cheaper

    XPS1210

    -Smaller, lighter
    -Better looks
    -Available built-in camera
    -Available graphics card
    -Screen gets better marks
    -XPS Support
    -Available Curtain Airbags ( J/k =D )

    Hope that helps. =)
