would be perfect imo. but does anyone know if they plan or most likely will offer this feature? i talked to a dell rep over the chat and asked her she said yes you can do it but you have to buy the parts for it and its not available at time of purchase then i was like integrated card is built into the motherboard you'd have to replace the entire motherboard then she reluctantly kept insisisting that you can do it but you have to go to spare parts and buy something so i guess she either was referring to having to buy a new motherboard or shes just confused and doesnt know what i was talking bout. which most likely is that as there customer service is not too knowledable as product specialists. so anyone know?

No you can not add a video card to the E1405. Mainly because for 1.) your current card is integrated 2.)you can only upgrade to cards that are specifically offered for the E1405.

It's impossible as stated - Dell would need to make several modifications to the chassis in order to do add one. It's been a while since the E1405 was introduced; if there was gonig to be a dedicated graphics card option, it would have been added by now.

Check out the HP dv2000t if you want a 14" + dedicated graphics - drop dead gorgeous notebook with fantastic quality and a great feel to it.
