    Hi,

is that right, what I see on the Dell Belgium site, no NVidea GeForce 7900 Gs with the Inspiron 6400 (E1505) ?

Is it too big, too hot, or just too much for Dell ?

Will this card which is offered:

    256MB ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400, PCI-Express x16

run Windows Vista Premium "Aero Glass" interface?

    thanks

    Philip

Yes, that GPU will be too hot/much for the E1505. The E1505 does not offer or has it ever offered the 7900 - you might be thinking of the E1705 or looking at the Nvidia 7400 for the E1505 instead.

I believe X1400 should be able to run Vista with Aero Glass

Anything beyond mainsteam in a 15.4" notebook is asking for serious heat trouble. The 7900 is a high performance card will will generate too much heat for a 15.4" laptop to dissipate.

The x1400 is a mid-range card and is definately vista aero compatible.

Although I find it weird why Dell have decided not to inculde either a Geforce 7600 or ATI 1600 in the E1505 (Which are used on most 15.4" laptops). Shame on them ;)

i do. i think its really weird. i guess they werent thinking about it when they made it. or if they did, they wanted people to get the 17" instead so they could make more money

Na i think dell doesnt want it's laptop to melt and blow up so the desided to play it safe, lol

Btw i think that 17 inches for a laptop is just a lil too much!
