so from reading a couple of posts here on the board, it is said that the 1505 only has 1 fan. therefore in I8kfanGUI, i disabled the GPU temp control and only set up the CPU when things heat up to 30C the fan would kick in. is this the best way to go about setting up the fan control? thx.

err, or you can just let the bios handel the fan. ^^
I find that the only reason I would want to overide manual control is if I wanted the fan to run all the time to keep everything cool and I wouldnt hear the fan noise (headphones or noisy environment). -
well for some reason the fan on my 1505 doesnt kick in till it hits ~48c. which is a bit too hot for me to place comfortably on my lap.. so now i have the fan turn on at 40c and off at 30c. seems to work okay so far. i can barely hear the fan when it's on 'slow'.

I set fan number 1 to low always on, keeps the notebook around 29c in a cool room and average use, and I dont do the 8 degree offset

on low the only way I can hear the fan is by putting my ear right up to it, on high its pretty loud, the default temp settings are way too high for my taste, and as for cleaning the fans, you can prevent dust build up by simply blowing compressed air through the vents once or twice a week before you get a major buildup, no need to take it apart

So how do you adjust the fan settings on the E1505? My daughters E1505 runs very hot, especially on the back right side. In fact, when she tries to play SIMS, a pretty basic game by today's standards, the laptop will eventually display a blue screen warning about a serious problem and it notes an ati file as the source of the issue. But, I'm thinking maybe the laptop is too hot and that's what's causing this.
I don't hear the fan running very much. Maybe if I can set it to run on low all the time, it may help.
