With the computer on, I close the LCD lid. Sometimes, when I open the lid from the closed lid state, the computer will not turn back on. I try to push the power button but it still will not respond. The power LED light is lit so I know the system is turned on. I final solution is to old the power button to shutdown and then restart the system. What is wrong and how can I fix the problem? I know the Power Settings are set to "Do Nothing" when the Lid is closed so that is that the problem.

If the power LED light is on, then you should only have to move your mouse or touch a key. Do you have your screen set to turn off after so long?

Even if I move the mouse or touch a key, the computer will not respond. The system's non-response occurs only when opening/closing the LCD lid, not from normal stand-by or hibernation.

However, in the unresponsive state after opening/closing the lid, sometimes when I push the power button, the computer shuts down.

okay. We've gotten some complaints about this. Have you tried closing the lid again and slowly opening it back up? Generally that will bring your screen back.

Also, I would recommend flashing your BIOS - even if it is to the same version. This has worked in the past on my laptop and some other users.

I don't know if this is the problem or not, but when ever you shut the lid of a laptop, your LCD/Screen is suppose to turn off. This is automatic and is pretty standard in laptops. Why would you want your screen to be on if your lid is shut? Anyways, sometimes if you open the lid up to quickly, your screen doesn't come back on. You should be able to close it and open it up again slowly... hopefully that will fix it.
