    E1505 - DVD Region Problem

    Hi all,

    Im having a problem to watch DVD movies...

    My country region is 4... so windows is configured correctly...

    But when a DVD disc is inserted the system shows a message that no disc is in the drive...

    Windows Explorer dont show the disc files....

    If it is a region problem then you can use an application like DVD region free or Any DVD : no risk
    OR
    you can flash your DVD drive with a region free firmware version (if you can find the proper firmware) : a more permanent solution but risky.

    I tried DVD Region... no way... it simply dont work....

    There is no such firmware available... I flashed the last dell firmware ( AD20 )... but it still the same...

    Any ideas?

    DVD Region Free generally works; if it doesn’t, then it is possibly some other issue. Problem with the drive or with the disks perhaps ? what about data DVDs, VCD and CDs ? Did you try to play those DVDs on any other PC ?

    Now I know what the problem is....

    This phlips drive is a piece of s***... its dead... cant read even data discs now...

    I'll replace it...
