I'm using Vista. When I first got my laptop (last week), and whenever I would turn the volume up or down with the buttons in front of the keyboard, there would be this meter that shows up to show the increase/decrease, but it doesn't show up anymore. The volume changes, but I would also like to see the meter. Where can I get it back? Thanks

this happened to me too. start>programs>Dell Quickset ( i think). and turn it back on. it should work. cuz if you turn it off from the task bar... it wont display the volume meter. so just turn it back on by clicking the quick set program
