I'm trying to configure on of these and am wondering about 2 things.
1. Will I notice a significant increase in speed of loading programs with the 7200?
2. Will there be significantly increased noise and heat?
Thanks!

The 5400RPM does hang a bit more.
The 7200RPMs do run a bit warmer. -
2. It depends on the maker of the HD, but usually you'll only notice a slight increase in HD noise and heat. You will notice a decreased battery life though - the 7200RPM drive will shave off about 15-25 minutes of battery life. -
hmm ... try to stay away from FUGI or w/e dell gives u bc my 7200 RPM HD MAKES SO MUCH NOICE AND IS SO HOT! Personally i like toshiba HD's but we cant always get what we want, lol
