    i am just wondering,

is the dell inspiron 6400 from canada exactly the same as the dell e1505? (apperance wise) with the white trim and silver coloured shell

    if its different, what's different?

Yes, they are the exact same physically and as far as I know internally too. The main difference is that one is offered in the home section and the other is offered in small business

yes, your 6400 will look like that. The 6400=E1505. They are the EXACT same system. Only difference is the numbering because Dell has to number things differently - I don't have a reason for why though.

Dell did this to seperate between home customers and business and government customers, so they can give more attention and focus to business and goverment users. Most home users, when they decide to buy another computer, they will buy one maybe 2 computers, but if large business decided to upgrade their system on one of their department, it can be 100 or even 1000 computers.
Giving different model number make whole lot of sense, they instantly know who to suck up to, when they receive the CS call.
