I got my first BSOD! I got it twice while playing party poker - don't laugh! I think it may have been coincidence because I've played poker since and it seems fine. I think it might have been because the cooling fans were blocked by blanket while it sat on my lap two nights ago. I can't remember exactly what the message said, but both times it was the same and it had the word "driver" in it and I'm pretty sure it had "IRQL" in it somewhere too. Does this ring a bell with anybody? Help?

I entered my service tag and there are a myriad of download updates to choose from. Forgive me, but do you have to uninstall anything first before you save these to your desktop and then install them? Should I install everything listed? Even though my service tag is entered, updates appear as choices that I'm certain can't be applicable to my E1505 - I only have the standard Intel video card, but I see other video card updates to download.

Anyone's help or thoughts would be mucho appreciated!

There is some driver that is causing the BSOD. The next time it pops up, it will tell you the exact driver that is causing a problem.

You don't have to uninstall any drivers before you update them. Normally, the drivers will take care of it.

I'm assuming that you went to dell's website and enter your tag number in. All of those categories contain drivers for the E1505. It doesn't necessarily mean that the drivers have been updated from the version you have - Dell just has all of the drivers there in case you reformat and need to download all of the drivers.

You should download a driver from each category except:
    diagnostic utility
    display devices
    printer devices

Under removable media, the driver will depend on what CD/DVD drive you have. You only need to download the drivers that apply to your machine, so in the case of the video driver, you would only need the intel.

If you give us your specs, we can get a more complete list of drivers.
