So I bought a PA-12 Family battery charger on eBay. It appears to be a Dell charger, Dell label, even Dell moulded into the rubber cable strap. Its rated output is 19.5 VDC at 3.34A, which is 65W.

However, when I plug the charger into the E1505, up pops a dialog saying to plug in a 65W or greater charger and that what I've plugged in will NOT charge the battery. Furthermore, the AC icon in the task bar shows on AC but not on AC and charging.

Anyone have any clues as to what's wrong?

    Thanks,
    Hermit

I don't think the PA-12 supports the 1505. I looked at a couple of websites that sell the PA-12 and none of them list the 1505.

I think your best bet is to return it.

    Thanks, but . . .

The AC charger I got from Dell with my E1505 says: PA-12 Family with an output of 19.5 VDC at 3.34 A. Sounds identical to me. What am I missing?

I purchased a lot of 5 PA-12 Family power adapters off of ebay, and just tried one on a E1505, and it seems to work as it's supposed to. Not sure, maybe something is wrong with yours.
