Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron E1505, XP OS.
My computer has been working fine until recently. Suddenly, my touchpad started to lag. It starts to jump everywhere whenever I move it. My keyboard is very unresponsive, I can't even hold down a button for it to read it would read only once and sometimes it doesn't read the letter I type. It took me about 10 minutes just to type this whole thing up.
To sum it all up :
Touchpad jumps everywhere, not smooth when you move it.
Keyboard : Sometimes does not read a button, very laggy, and does not work holding down a button. Also, I just noticed that the left and right buttons of my touchpad are very laggy as well.

From a previous thread, the same problem was corrected by updating the BIOS. I have tried to do the same but I get:
    MM061 BIOS Flash AXX
"An unexpected error occurred while running the flash application..." with app and windows error codes.

    Any ideas?

    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

Well since you dont give details on how your applying your bios up/down grade try this.
Make sure battery is at least 50% charged, download the bios once again and save to a location you can find it. With mains power connected boot into safe mode with Admin account and run your bios up/down grade let it go through the motions until it reboots.

Make sure you're plugged into power, NOT on battery power. Also, be sure ALL applications and programs are closed on you laptop.

Download the BIOS from Dell, save to desktop, and run it from there.

how are you getting that message?
Are you trying to flash the BIOS through Windows?
    You cant do that.
You need to go to the Dell website and download the E1505 Bios. Than you need to follow the instructions, unzip/extract and burn to a cd. Than you flash from the CD. You do this before getting into Windows.

About the keyboard and touchpad issues. I have had one keyboard and one touchpad go bad on me.
The keyboard went bad at 8500hrs of use
the touchpad went bad at 6300hrs of use.

I contacted dell and they simply replaced them. Mine was under warranty. If yours is under warranty I recommend contacting them. Replacement doesnt take very long.
If you are out of warranty, I can tell you what you need to do to replace the keyboard/touchpad on the system.
