Do the 6000 covers that are the only Quicksnap covers to be found on the Dell website fit on the E1505 or something? I just talked with a sales rep for over half an hour and she was trying to say that it would work. I said, "nah uh", and got frustrated and just quit. First bad experience with Dell support.
But, anyway, I want to purchase a carbon fiber quicksnap for my Dell E1505 but I was wondering how the texture is. It looks bumpy, but I saw a picture that made it look like that was an 'effect' and that the actual cover is smooth. The reason I ask is, even after getting the cover, I want to stick some stickers and decals on it. I don't think stickers and decals stick well on bumpy surfaces, right? I used the forum search (by the way, it's probably the best forum search feature I've ever used. Make sure to utilize it more often if you already don't!), but I couldn't find anything on this.
Also, just wondering, where on the website can I purchase covers at? Or, am I right in assuming I can only get it from a rep?
After I get this info, I guess I'll try my hand at convincing a sales rep to give it to me for cheap. Hopefully it's not the one I had earlier... Eeek...
All input appreciated.

Yes, the quicksnap covers for the 6000 fit the E1505
-
Even real carbon fiber is clearcoated so that it's smooth, but it will have the fiber look. in the case of the quicksnap, it'll be smooth and have the fiber look.
Yes the 6000 and the e1505 are the same chassis, meaning that unfortunately, she was right and you were wrong
you just have to look a bit in accessories to find it on the site, or you could call a sales rep. if you do get it for cheaper let me know, they're also availalbe from time to time on ebay. -
-
yeah, just different keyboard keys, back ports layout and touchpad and buttons i beleive. as i said before, the 6000 quicksnap will fit the e1505 without a hitch
-
Well, she never really seemed sure of herself. If she was positive about it, then she could've convinced me. We're all wrong sometimes! Ahh, man, now I feel terrible.
Thanks for the input. Since it is indeed smooth, I'll definitely get that. Thanks a lot!
EDIT: JUUUUUUST to make sure... It will fit widescreens, too, yeah? I've read that certain backpacks can fit 15.4" notebooks but not 15.4" widescreens which leads me to believe they are different sizes. -
well, i got my CF one off ebay for 25 bucks and it is an AWESOME investment, never had to worry about stains, scratches or anything, just wipe it down every now and then. They got a bunch on there, check it out
-
i know what you mean, the reps arent the most assuring people to talk to sometimes, or maybe i just like to know everything... the i6000 and e1505 are both widescreen so go ahead and order it.

I have the carbon fiber snap cover and I think it looks amazing on my E1505 also could resist scratches
-
I was thinking about getting one. I like the Cherrywood one better. The cover is a good idea.
-
I was interested in one of these covers, however, I'm wondering about how they do with heat dissipation. Anyone know if it causes any problems in this department?
Regards,
Mike -
i dont think that heat coming off your lcd backlight is of too much concern.
my next purchase is a cooler, but after that i think i'll get a quicksnap and custom paint it. -
i order my carbon fiber quick snap with my E1505, its pretty sweet and yes its smooth. I also got a free 15 inch skin promotion, should be getting here with in 30 days. Does any one know whats the differences between the skin and quicksnap? I would think the skin is just a big 15 inch sticker but i could be wrong......
-
yeah it's a vinyl sticker that goes on your laptop, as opposed to a hard cover that goes over your laptop
-
vinyl sticker ohh what a bummer....
-
is there a quicksnap for the e1705, sounds kinda cool
-
yeah there is, though it may say that it's for the 9300, theyre the same case though so it'll fit.
-
Anyone know if there's one to fit the XPS M140?
-
The Flames vinyl cover might be kind of appropriate for a Dell nowadays!
-
Rofl, they should just put a picture of a burning battery on the front of the flames quicksnap. Hey quick question, does the quick snap add any thickness to your notbook?
-
How much thickness does the Quicksnap cover add to the laptop? or does it hold real close?
-
i think it adds about 1/8 of an inch? maybe?
they are supposed to fit really nice and snug.
Ordered a charcoal leather one. -
Is there any quicksnap available which fits E1405?
-
-
anyone got any pictures of the quick snap covers actually on the laptop??
-
ok, here are some pics of my E1505 with charcoal leather cover. its very nice and i recommend getting one. i took these pics in a hurry and in low light so they really dont do it justice. any requests for a specific angle or whatever let me know. ill try and take some better ones later. i also included a couple of pics that compare the E1505 15.4" and the 2007WFP 20.1" monitors.
-
By the way, thanks for the pics. They're nice. Can't wait to get mine -
wow that does look pretty nice.... now i'm tempted to get one if it wasn't for the fact that i have the free wenger pegasus backpack. the e1705 is a REAL tight fit in there already so i'm pretty sure it won't fit with the extra 1/8th of a inch.
-
I wonder if this would fit on the M90. I actually wouldn't mind having one of the Carbon Fiber one.
-
people have also sanded down their quicksnaps and custom painted them.
