For some reason my 30% coupon code does not work with the Dual Core E1505...I go to Home and Home Office and select notebooks and hten go to the E1505 page. There I select the middle notebook, the one with the screen and ram upgrade. Then I customize that laptop. I add it to the cart and try to use the coupon code "FS7F8LM5PV7RFK" to save 30% on my notebook that costs over $999, but the code does not apply. What am I doing wrong?

i tried to order the e1505 today using the $750 off $2000 coupon code and it didn't work (i made sure to use one of the correct e-value codes and it still didn't work). i've read on some other threads that people have had success using codes that didn't work online by calling and speaking to a dell sales representative. does anyone here have any experience with this? thoughts on whether or not it might work?
thanks!! -
Did you get any kind of error? I just tried it on the E1705 and it worked fine. I'll try it on the E1505 and see what happens.
-
Calling in the order should work as long as the coupon code is valid for the model and the maximum alloted coupons have not been used.
-
If the code is valid it will work online or over the phone, it doesn't make a difference. You either had the computer configured so that the original price was not high enough, or you entered the code incorrectly in all likelihood.
The phone reps have no idea about coupon codes, I've talked to some before and when I tell them a code for $750 off they are like "Wow, that's a big coupon, I didn't know they had coupons for that much off! Where do you find those?" or something like that. If the code isn't valid, they can't help you. -
actually, i tried it with the E1505 - the coupon would not work. Right e-value code and pricing, and the coupon worked on the e1705, so probably the website is screwed up.
You might be able to use order support to get the coupon to work, but you just need to call/chat with them and tell them that the coupon is not working online. It hasn't expired yet. -
Same thing here with the over 1500 coupon. MQL3HJ09C8P$04
-
Try calling dell. The coupons do work on the E1705 so they have not expire, and when i tried it, the e-value codes were correct. The only thing that I can figure out is that the web is screwed up.
-
They've been broken since released on Thursday. Was trying to configure a 1505 for my friend yesterday and it happened every time. By happenstance, Friday was luckily the day for the E1505 to be one of the "10 Days of Deals" and he got about the same amount off anyway.
-
i was going to help my friend pick out a new notebook. She loves the 15" inspiron. 1505 or whatever it is called now.
Are there any coupons that are actually working? I read through the previous thread. Just wondering if i should wait it out till new coupons come out or if i should go ahead with the purchase. Will calling Dell really work? thanks for the help.
///
P.S. just on a side note. i noticed the reformatting guide. with inspirons you can hold down ctrl-f11 on the startup (before xp screen) and it will reset your notbeook to factory settings. pointing it out for those who need it. -
Please don't create new threads for topics already being discussed. All it does is create double posting and ends up being merged with the current threads.
The coupons are not working on any of the E1505. The only thing you can do is call Dell and get them to accept the coupon over the phone. -
Ordered my E1505 a little over two weeks ago. The coupon worked some times while I was pricing and sometimes it did not. Finally figured out the configuration I wanted popped in the coupon and it worked, but decided to phone in my order. The sales rep and he had an awful time getting the coupon to work on his end but he finally got it processed.
Best thing I ever did since he advised the coupon was also good for the service contract and made the extended warranty a bargain as far as I was concerned. -
I ordered mine over the phone, but the reason that they did not work online was becuase the 2nd E1505 model had already had the 4,000 redemptions so thats why that particular model would not work. Hence, the 17 inch would wokr, but not the 15 inch.

Ok an update:
I just ordered the 1505 with the coupon after about an hour and a half phone conversation. The rebate only works on certain models of the 1505. When you look up the 1505 on the website you get 3 options. NONE of these are available with the discount. I tried all three. There is another version that ends in a 3 (e code) and it will work. Anyway, if you want to use this coupon ( which I really dont recommend anymore) give them the coupon code FIRST and work from there. This is a HUGE hastle, and I dont think there is really a way to do it directly on the computer (trust me I tried) You will have to call. I still cant find the version that I ordered on the website. It only gives you three options (ultimate entertainment - photos - and the basis system) Dont bother trying to use these with the coupon. They dont work, and if they do I really want to know because they wouldn't let me.
Its nice to configure everything on the dell website, but I'm really starting to like the the looks of Toshiba again now. -
Go to this site:
http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~topic=evalue
and you can enter the codes manually. You'll find the e-value codes on the Dell Sticky
I tried two codes: I couldn't get the 6VAFF-E1505s2 to work, but the 6VAFF-E1505s3 does work (just tried it).
They must have updated their site, cause that was the correct e-value codes for the coupons. -
Also the days of deals is ending. Tomorrow will be a new day. Also back to school is coming up. It might make sense to wait a few days to see what happens
-
I used that coupon Thursday morning and it worked - then it wouldn't work on Thursday afternoon. I think what happens is people buy up the allotted number of computers to sell on Ebay and then the coupon stops working. Or Dell may have cut that one off since it was an excellent deal with 3 or 4 "free" add ons and then the 30% off! Where do you think all those Dell computers "still in the box" come from on Ebay? You can probably pick one up their for $100 more next week.
-
IDK, the coupon still does work. I just tried the 750, so it hasn't reached it maximum number of uses. I think dell's site has been screwed up lately cause we've gotten a few complaints about the coupons or I just didn't really check the e-value code. I swore that I did.
There is another possible problem: this might be the last week of the 750 off / 30% off coupons. Dell has changed their pricing strategies, so anything could happen in the next couple of weeks. -
thank you SG, friend is buyin the 1505 and had trouble with it, you are an angel for that
-
does anyone know what kind of deals they have for back to school sale? do you think it can get any better than this:
E1505 Dual Core

256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory
100GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 6.0

53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
1Yr Ltd Warranty, 1Yr Mail-In Service, and 1Yr HW Warranty Support
TOTAL: $1098 - $219.60 = $878.40
and if i can call in to get that 30% off coupon to work, then it can get below $800! i dunno if even a back to school sale can beat that kinda price. -
The back to school sales won't be as good as that. I can't remember what exactly they did last year, but it seemd like they did the 750 off /30% off - which seems to be the regular.
