I took advantage of the $750 off coupon (it still worked even though some said it had expired). The Dell website had an estimated ship date of 3/30 throughout the ordering process. I just received my order confirmation email and it is now quoting 4/12 as the estimated ship. Did others who ordered today experience the same thing?

Dell bounces dates around so much, it's not even funny. I've even had stuff arrive before it says they've been shipped on their site. We'll see what others say, but don't get too worried yet.

Dell normally over estimates their shipment dates, but since the E1505 just came out, its shipment dates tend to bounce as Brian describe.

You can always check the status of your laptop online when you log in. Under "My Order Status" you can click on the status of your laptop, and it should take you to the invidivual stages. If a stage is checked, that means your laptop has completed that stage.

Just an FYI: boxing normally takes 3 days.

I'd like a new dual core desktop, maybe they'll ship me one before I order it. ;)

From Dell: we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order xxxxxxxxx and will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 04-10-2006. -- huh??
Also from Dell: We are stupid :D :D :D:dell:

    I ordered the E1505...but I can't wait for 20 days, that's just ridiculous!
But then again, what choice do I have :(

    Yup, 4/12.

It's kind of a mixed blessing for me though. I'm not sure if I want the E1505 or the as-yet-to-be-released E1405. So I was able to jump on the $750 coupon to get a good price on an E1505 and since it won't supposedly ship until mid-April, Dell will hopefully release the E1405 between now and the 21 days from invoice I have to return the E1505 so I can compare them side-by-side.

The coupon code is for $750 off $1999.
    M$0BPCBGXQH6TR

I priced out several configurations and found that by cranking up all of the specs to push the pre-coupon price to over $2000 and utilizing the $750 coupon, you will spend a little more money than you might have with lesser specs but will get some significant upgrades relatively inexpensively (in my case: faster CPU (2Ghz), extra battery, 7200rpm HDD--the cost of these items is $475 but by using the bigger coupon, they'll end up costing me less than $200 more than w/o them). The coupon is still active as of this post...

Here's what I ordered--I'm very satisfied that it's a lot of machine for the money.

    Base Price: $949
    Upgrades (see below): $1061
    Total: $2010
    -$750 coupon code M$0BPCBGXQH6TR
    - $35 coupon code from ebay (cost me $2) http://search.ebay.com/dell-home-35-300

I ordered mine yesterday and it started out as 3/30 went to 4/12, now its saying 4/15 to 4/17 for delivery.

Im taking it as a mixed blessing too.. gives me a while to look around and see what else is out there... see if the new lenovo is any good, etc. What is this E1405? any news on specs. Im guessing its an 700m replacement so it likely wont have what im looking for (better GPU) but if its similar specs to the e1505 in a smaller form factor that could be cool too.

Hi guys, newbie here. :) I just managed to get in on the $750 off coupon deal too about three hours ago, but I just checked and it appears that it may actually be gone now. I could only get the coupon to work by starting with the two bottom level e1505's. Yesterday evening I never did get the coupon to work at all. Go figure? Anyway, this should be a great notebook computer for my daughter to take to college next fall:

    Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2400 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
    256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™
    100GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
    8X CD/DVD Burner
Intel® PRO 3945 and Dell 350 Bluetooth Internal Wireless Cards
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition with re-installation CD
MS Office Student and Teacher Edition with Encarta Deluxe
4 Year Ltd Warranty ($50 Rebate) & 4 Year Accidental Damage Coverage

After coupon and rebate, $1500 delivered to my door. :D Estimated delivery date 4/13/06.

Due to the shipping delay I cancelled my order. I figure if I've got to wait almost a month before receiving it I might as well wait until there is a bit more competition.

I just built this same machine on the Sony Vaio site (FE 590) with the same hardware and warranty specs, and similar software, and the cost was almost $2500!

there was a few hour window where they just released the dedicated graphics card for the E1505 and get that $750 off..i cancelled my order 3 times to get this right..me dilegence paid off ordering it on the 22nd..mt 1505 will have the dedicated graphics card..i also upgraded the ram from the "Dell parts" area cause the ram is cheaper there than at the options area for the laptop..and the ram at the "dell parts" is 667mhz way faster!!
