Hello everyone. I am somewhat disappointed with my Nvidia 7300 256MB video card when it comes to gaming (BF2142). BIOS shows this card as a 128mb card so I am thinking I got hosed with a 128 card that barrows another 128 from the main memory even though I ordered a 256mb card. Am I able to buy a better card and if so will it work with the E1505? I searched new egg and tiger direct and can't find squat. Can someone recommend where to find a good gaming card and provide a link? Thank you

well you probably got tricked by dell into thinking that the go 7300 was a better card than the x1400 because it was a more expensive "upgrade". but actually the cheaper x1400 is actually superior than the 7300. tough luck for u, but i think that you probably can change the video card, but it wont be easy

Its not normally possible to upgrade graphics, however, with some of the Dells it is possible to exchange the graphics, so long as the card was sold with the notebook from the beginning. That means that you can upgrade to the Mobility X1400. However, he difference in performance isn't massive, the price of upgrading is very high and it will void your warranty. The Mobility X1400 will also use 128 MB of its memory from the main system memory.

Yes I was suckered into thinking it was a better card. I guess I am sticking with the 7300. Thanks!

You might be able to find an X1400 compatible with your notebook for around $200 in eBay but the performance difference is not worth the price and loosing warranty.

Edit : this is a discussion about the performance difference between the two
