Just updated my notebook from XP to 7 (really like it!), and wanted to use a SD card for the ReadyBoost feature.

    Have a 4GB SDHC Sandisk:

The built-in reader (RICOH) works fine with standard SD cards, but won't even recognize this one.

Have looked for driver updates, but unable to find anything that works.

    Have any suggestions?

Was the driver preinstalled or did you use a Dell driver?

    Preinstalled by 7.

Tried the Dell drivers as well...no luck.

I don't think SDHC cards are readable in the memory card reader. Did it work in XP?

Yeah, confirm that it worked before. The E1505 is just around the time that SDHC readers were starting to show up in laptops, it may or may no work.

I believe the E1505s only read SD cards, not SDHC.

If you look just above the port, it's "inscribed" on the chassis what will work with it. Mine says "SD/MMC..." and some other junk, but it doesn't mention SDHC.

Is the system BIOS up to date? I have an E1705 and it was able to use SDHC only after I updated to the latest BIOS.
