    hi everyone
i ordered my e1505 specs as follow

    Duo Core T2400
    1 gig ram
    dvd burner
    intel+bluetooth
    extra battery
    100g 7200 Sata
    X1400

    Paid 1376.00 with tax

    i can get the XPs
    M760
    120g 5400 HD
    Nvidia gt7800
    only one battery
    intel+ bluetooth

    1487 out of the door

basically the same setup minus the 7200 rpm hd the extra battery, i do get however a bigger screen with the xps.

I am in the military and the military store i shop at has an agreetment with dell and they sell their products

should ireturn the 1505 and get the XPS, i am not a big gamer but is nice to have the power of the nvidia card in case is needed, thanks for any suggestions.

What are you going to be doing with the Laptop? Don't forget the e1505 comes with a Dual Core processor which is good for multi-tasking.

i will use it mainly for school, i am planning on installing Linux on it also keeping windows and i do not play video games, i have a dual core opteron for my main system with all the bells and whistles, and the wife ususally uses the laptop in the kitchen to look up receipes while she cooks, (sold my old one, this one will replace it). so i see your point.

If you are going to use apps that are optimized for dual-core, core duo will run twice as fast as pen m(I've done a test).

stick with the e1505 unless you game, which you don't! :)

the e1505 has only one thing going for it it has a better processor. that is nice but it doesnt matter much really...

Matters a lot if you are multi-tasking, and you can get a UXGA screen on the E1505.

XPS... the 7800GTX is several times more powerful then the X1400. The only thing going for the E1505 is the dual core. But that won't help at all when gaming.

Stay with the e1505. You will have the latest technology and one point no one mentioned, you will have much better battery life. It will also weigh a considerable amount less then the m170.

On tests already done, the e1505 and (e1705) will outperform the m170 in every aspect (the expection being video) as the m170 has a top-notch video card.

    Hope that helps!!
