E1505 order to delivery=fast!

Howdy all -

In case anyone is interested, Dell seems to be cranking out E1505's quite fast.

Prompted by the 30% off coupon and Vista upgrade, I ordered one with the t7400 CPU and x1400 video on Friday 10/27 at 3pm local time, and it's being delivered to me in California tomorrow, 10/31. It went into build and testing on 10/28, and was in "boxing" until early this morning. Now it's in Sparks, Nevada on it's way over the hill.

I don't know if this is typical nowadays, but in reading past messages it doesn't seem to be.

your order is fast indeed i ordered mines on the same day as you but mines is still in the boxing phase....

 

I ordered my 1210 last Tuesday. Order tracking said that it was out of the factory by Wednesday afternoon. It came into Australia Sunday, and said that the local courier had it yesterday. Hopefully that means I will have it tomorrow . Still, not holding my breath.

 

Dang. I ordered my on the 26th using the $300 off coupon (should of waited one more day) and it is currently in the boxing phase but it isn't expected to ship out until Friday. It might not get here in PA until Monday.

 

Mine was supposed to ship 11/6, shipped 10/31.

When I get it, I hope it's not "some assembly required" lol

 

Congrats, yep Dell must be working overtime. I placed an order for a custom 1705 last Friday night and it will be here Wednesday. That is only 5 days!!! It was to be here on the 7th which was going to suck because I'm leaving on the 6th for 2 week vacation. Dell rocks in my book, so far.

 

I just think they are in between the school season and the xmas season.

Also, it's better to promise late and deliver early.

 

my laptop is been on boxing for a few days now...is this normal?

 

They prolly just ran out of boxes... :rofl

 

Matsu, my order was in pre production for 3 days then boom it went all the way to shipping and had a tracking number. I assume they do not update like they should.

Yea. Mine is on its way over to the shipping center now. It updated earlier today. I'm so excited. I couldn't help looking at the status when I was in-between calls.

 

That's great news - ordered mine yesterday and it's expected to ship 11/16. It would be nice not to wait 2+ weeks!

 

Yea. Basically don't be surprised if they push the date up. I am getting mine a full 5 days early considering that the delivery date wasn't supposed to be until Nov 6th (ship Nov 3rd). It is on a fedex truck to be delivered later today. Hope it comes before I leave for work. They sent it via Priority Overnight which surprised me since I only opted for the free shipping option

 

For those of you who got the 80GB 5400rpm drive, could you post the manufacturer name of it when you get it?
