On my E1505, when I close the lid i have it set to stay on but turn off the screen. However when I reopen the lid sometimes the screen wont turn back on, either I have to close the lid and reopen it, and then it works, or sometimes I have to restart the computer in order for teh screen to come back on.

Yeah, my E1505 does the same thing also. I'm not sure why it does it.

I had the same problem with a DELL Inspiron 5160. I think it helped to hit the Windows Key or Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. I had a screensaver which needed a pass toget back in. But doing that from what I remember did work at times. SO HAPPY with my Vaio SZ!!! I was close to getting another Dell, glad I didnt!Good Luck.
