I'm trying to configure a E1505 that comes with the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 [Included in Price]. Is the 128MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1300 HyperMemory™ [add $49 or $1/month1] worth the $49.00 if I am just going to be surfing the net, word processing and watching DVD's on it? I heard that a seperate video card does improve video performance some. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would do it just to ensure I could run AeroGlass when Vista comes out. I know the GMA 950 is supposed to be able to run AeroGlass with enough amount of RAM, but with the X1300, you're almost guaranteed to be able to run Vista.

you prolly don't need it for what you want to do, but the x1300 is worth the extra 49 bucks, because you never know when you'll want to expand your computer horizons.

I'd say get it. The ATI Radeon X1000 series has the new Avivo technology; it will smooth out videos and provide better playback. Also good for Vista as posted.

Definately go with at least the X1300. I would recommend spending the extra few bucks on the X1400.

id go with the x1300, i got it. it can offload a lot of the video playing onto its self so you can do a lot more while watching a dvd than without it (Accelerated MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9, VC-1, and H.264 decoding and transcoding)
it also will improve the quality on homemade and old DVDs a tiny bit
