Hey all. Had a odd thing happen to me. This happens when I think the computer is trying to do the "Default" sound beep which is software based or whatever. However NOW instead of that, it uses the hardware system beep (The louder one which is like a speaker beep)

Even if you do Mute, that beep will still happen when the sound is requested by whatever im doing on the PC. (Like backspace when it cant go back anymore, or some confirm menus will do it)

Anyone know what caused the change? The system doesnt do the "Shutdown" sound anymore either. Which I checked the control panel. Other sounds work fine, least so I believe, game sounds, movies all work fine too. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else yet. Thanks. =)

go into sounds control pannel, hardware and sounds, change system sounds, and make sure windows default is selected from the drop down menu.
