With all the talk about the e1705 and the new XPS M1710 getting an upgrade to the 7900 Go/GTX, I was wondering if Dell will upgrade the graphics card on the e1505 too. Does anyone know? You see, the thing is that I want a notebook for school, but I don't want it to be too heavy or big - as a result I am not considering the 17-inch screens at all.

EDIT: I can wait till late August/early September.

    Thanks

    I doubt it...

If you're looking for a notebook, you might wanna fill out the FAQ and post it on the What SHould I Buy forums.

Its unlikely that we will see a graphics card better than the x1400 in an e1505 in the near future... cards such as the x1600, x1800, 7800, and 7900 generate significant heat requiring a more robust cooling solution than the e1505 can deliver. Its always possible that something down the line will run cool enough to use, but there isnt anything like that on the market today.

Also, making a high end graphics card available in the e1505 would likely take sales away from their XPS models so I dont know how thrilled Dell would be about doing it in the first place.
