Anyone who has a 1505 w/the x1400 plz post at what resolution you can play at w a very playable frame rate.

My system is 1.66ghz duo w/1gig ram,and a 7200rpm HD. Video card on all highest quality below is how my games run. I have the SXGA+ screen also.

    Call of Duty2:
    1280x720 w 2x Anti-alias w all textures on extra(max)

Tiger Woods PGA tour golf 2006:
    max everything no problem

    Unreal 2:
    Quite impressed with performance
playable at 1680x1050 but has slowdown at times
    plays best at 1280x800
all textures and etc on High

    Civ4:
1680x1050 runs great but if you add anti-alias you would have to drop it down a bit.

    I'll add more later

Quake 4 plays at 1024x768 with widesceen setting on medium details pretty well.

BF2 was playable at 1280x800 all medium.

By cleaning up the XP MCE install on my e1505 some light OC and omega drivers, I got 1965 on 3dmark 05, I can EASILY break 2k.

It will also help when I install my second stick of ram here in ab hour or two, dual channel sooms to boost scores about 5-10% so we will see!

Ive played BF2, Fear, and Doom3 all at 1280x800 or better and playable framerates. Had AA 2x, dynamic shadows, etc. on with BF2 and it seemed to be a bit faster with everything on than it was at the default 800x600 with everything off... wierd... but ill take it.

The one(s) I really want to know about are Oblivion and D&D Online... anyone check those out yet?

    Oblivion runs quite nicely :D

I mean, I would definitely be unhappy with the performance if I wanted a "gaming laptop", but I'm more than satisfied with how the e1505 with x1400 runs such a heavy game as Oblivion while maintaining a pretty good prettiness level. Check the Oblivion thread for details (I can post an INI file for it, actually, if anyone want, and if I get around to it).

I have this exact pc with 2 gigs of ram and the T7400 core2duo. COD2 runs like crap for some reason. What are your settings on that? What settings are you running Oblivion at? Any settings that I can change with the card itself?

    Thanks

Just getting started on my E1505 and that is what I found for Quake 4 too - full widescreen and medium settings is playable. I am not sure I saw much improvement with the multicore patch (had to turn on this option after install) - but I am fine with this kind of light/medium gaming....for the price I paid for the dell.

IF you want to play good framerates on COD2, Change your Video settings to Direct X 7 instead of 9.

PREY playable @ 1024x768, low settings no AA or anything else.
Need FOr speed playable @1024x768 low settings on everything except high details on car.
