Hey all.. been tempted to order the external Dell TV/AV attachment they sell for 100$ been wondering on the quality of it. How well does it work?

I know some models external I had before USB 2.0 was out were crap.. great for screen captures, NOT for anything else tho!

Does the Dell model have a Audio/Visual sync issue? I am looking into this more for TV viewing as well as hooking up a game console to it to play with. Cant be allowed to have a sync issue.

My ATI 9600 XT AiW works.. but only if I keep it on older drivers, since the new ones make it out of sync.. sadly. =(

So looking for reports on the Dell external TV/AV input device. What is known about it?

Also Docking station for the E1505.. all it looked like is a stand so your laptop can sit up right.. sigh.... what else is it really offering? Why would one want to use it more? Just wondering. =)

I am using the Dell (Angel) TV tuner with E1505. The Windows XP media interface is great. The Tivo-like function is really wonderful, and easy to use. The image itself is, well, acceptable. It is not as smooth as regular TV, but again enjoyable.

For the price ($60 after coupon), I don't know whether you can do better, but there should be a better TV tuner out there.

Coupon? Which one! I was expecting to pay 109$ for it from dell. Forgot about coupons! Which one can I use? =D Id buy it for 60$!!!

Also hows the audio/video sync? Also will a video game system work on it fully without issues? If you HAVE the ability to try, let me know please! Dying to take just a laptop on the road with the system vs worrying about right things for a hotel tv.

I bought the tuner with the system using 40% off coupon.
If buy separately, I assume that you can use 20% off coupon that shows up frequently.
    The audio-video sync is perfect.
It is just during the fast action scene, the image gets somewhat blur. So watching basketball is a pain. But typical low action programs are quite enjoyable to watch.

I haven't tried the game or any other inputs.
Frankly, I am not sure about the advantage of taking the tuner with you when you can simply watch a TV at the hotel room, unless of course you want to record some programs.

No, I want to hook up my PS2, Game Cube etc to my PC and play off it. ;) Much better quality screen with S-Vid hehe.. and portable, thats why I am asking.

Most Hotels use ONLY cable, so you need a seperate AV -> Cable adapter.. which is stupid too.

If you want to use my $25 off coupon that expires 6/30, let me know...I don't think I will buy anything else from Dell before then...and anyhow I got two that aren't stackable
