So about a month ago but HDD completely died (lost everything and no chance to recover anything, also happened 1 month out of warranty). I purchased a new 320gb HDD to replace the dead one. My question is how to I recreate the MediaDirect partition? I would really like to be able to boot into the MediaDirect shell.

I tried to search for a way on google.. but most people just want to remove it. I was able to to download a MediaDirect 3.5 restore dvd but it was meant for an XPS M1530 or XPS M1350, but I have an E1505. I read that I can just rename the folders and files to get it to work. I tried that and instead of getting the error about the wrong System ID, I get an error that says the system isnt supported, and I think it means it wont work with Vista. Any ideas?

You need version 3 for your E1505, 3.5 isn't going to work since it checks your notebook model.
