Hey all, I had this happen awhile back and back then I would have a speaker like bios beep in place of windows xp sounds.
I read up about in device manager to disable the "BEEP" or something that cleared it from annoying beep (Like when I backspace and it cant go back anymore)
Well couple weeks ago I reinstalled from scratch, It seems all was working as normal.. that was till just recently. The Beep is replacing system sounds again. However this time I had noticed something else.. It was when I had my hardware switch for my wifi/bt off that it would cause the beeps to happen, Then when I reenabled the switch, it came back to normal.
Granted... right now its not working that way like it was... so even with it enabled.. system sounds are just a beep from the speaker. (Normal audio, game sound, movie sounds etc all work fine, its just anything windows has its build in sounds that are replaced)
Anyone have any idea? Curious if it is somehow related to the BT and Wifi chip. (Intel pro wireless with dell module aka toshiba stack bluetooth)

Ok hrm... Might be another thing thats causing it. Just testing the volume using Windows itself. The normal beep for volume test worked. I then went back to the Soundblaster HD and tested it and back to speaker beep.. so wondering if its some sorta software conflict. (The Sigmatel audio chip then add the Soundblaster audigy advance mb to it)
Anyone seen possible issues with it? -
Ok well I found a temp solution... but the cause is still unknown. I can get it working fine again. (Where the Default beep, System start, shutdown will all be working right etc) if I reinstall the SB Audigy MB from scratch.. then once rebooted, it works fine... then sometimes after reboot its still normal.. but then after that.. I load up, it will go back to the same issues I have. (I think I ruled out Wifi/BT switch as a cause)
But the question is still whats really the cause here... Cause I could uninstall it all, doesnt solve the issue either. So does anyone have a lead onto HOW one could even explain the problem? I mean I cant really call dell and be like "My system sound on somethings turned into a Bios type Beep that isnt controlled by windows volume"
They would say reinstall or something stupid.. Im about to contact Creative see if they know anything, but chances are they will say OEM install, Contact Dell. =/
So if anyone has a good direction in whats up here, that would be great. Thanks.
E1505, System sounds turned into speaker beep. Wifi/BT the cause?
