If you don't have to pay for the Office productivity suite, i would get rid of it given that it does not include word, but that's just my personal opinion.
60GB for the hard drive is a bit small but you might want to get a new one form newegg or something, it's your call.
I'd recommend the 9 cell battery though simply for the extra life that you'll get. This is especially helpful if you're a student and want to use your laptop to take notes in lectures and what not. In my experience, it is near impossible to find an outlet in lecture halls, but that could just be our old buildings...
You might want to get a longer warranty, if you're the type to take good care of your stuff then maybe not. In my case, i bought the 3 year complete care with accident protection so i'm pretty much set.
other than that, it looks great. i paid 1500 for my pentium M powered ati x300 gpu'ed inspiron 6000 9 months ago. if only i had waited a bit longer....
