I recently sold an E1705 to a customer who mentioned to me he noticed images appeared "grainy" or "pixelated" when surfing the web.

I just received an E1505 which seems to suffer the same problem. Both the E1705 & E1505 have the truelife upgraded screen.

The E1505 is running in native WSXGA+ resolution: 1680x1050.

Normal windows, icons on the desktop, icon graphics, etc., seem to look real sharp and clear, but images displayed under IE (graphics on websites) do indeed look grainy/blocky and pixelated.

Under Firefox, the problem wasn't quite as bad, maybe 25% better.

Is this due to the integrated intel video or something else which can be resolved? It is pretty annoying. Since the customer I sold the E1705 to reported the same thing, I'm assuming this isn't isolated to this machine.

right click when on the desktop screen and select "Properties" then select "Settings" then "Advanced". Under the "General" tab change the DPI back to normal size which is 96 DPI. That should fix your problem.

Actually, it was the Internet Scaling option in Dell Quickset that was causing the issue.

Disabling that fixed the problem. Works fine in the higher DPI.
