I see. Does this mean I need to be a business (or have a tax ID) to purchase from there then since it was Small Business?

Man if I would have know this, I would have went for the 1705 in a heartbeat. I would love to have that graphics card even with the bigger 1705.

Well I unpacked it, and uninstalled a ton of bloat ware. Everything is here, 100G 7200RPM, Go7800, Core Duo 2.0G, 2.0G 677Mhz Ram... and the remote is sooo cool....

But the screen does have bad light leakage...

I've been chatting with a hardware tech, this evening, she told me the screen was working as designed... said they are very bright screens and leak light because of the new tech used to get the bright screen

Anyway I have escalted the matter... ;)

That light leakage is nothing at all when you are in the windows. It is only noticeable when screen is dark (booting, watching wide screen movies), other than that there is nothing to complain about. The only thing I don't really like about it is that the screen is grainy (I am spoiled by IBM's SXGA).

You might be right... but it really shouldn't leak at all :( , my Gateway 20" doesn't and it is very bright...

Anyway just upgraded my drivers, got Core 368 and memory 891, gave me a 3dmark05 of 5570...

I will mod the Bios and OC the volage to 1.2-1.3 next... so far I am pleased with that OC :D

Here are my 3Dmark05 & 06 results with new GPU drivers and overclock. I tried a volt mod 1.2 but actually got lower results.

Does i9kfangui work with the Core Duo's stable? The main dev. page says not to use the utility with the core duos. http://www.mckenziedev.com/index.php
Unless I missed a 2.4 release they've posted elsewhere, or it's been modded by someone else to work with the duos.

So far the E1705 rocks, since I OC'd the GPU I can play COD2 multi player wireless, and install BattleField2 and still get 40-60FPS with DirectX9  It really multi tasks and the G07800 card when OC'd is very responsive, so as far as I am concerned this is a great work and play Laptop.. :D

My untweaked 7800GTX got 3600 in 3dmark06. That is very good for your go 7800

    Congrats again!
