The DVD playback when full screen is "pixelated", kind of blurry, not very quality. Is that normal?
thanks

1. what app?
2. what's the native res of your LCD and what res are you running it at?
3. is your dpi set correctly? (96)
4. does the source look normal with other media players? -
It depends on the native resolution of your screen as mentioned above. Remeber, DVD's are only 480p, meaning 480 lines of resolution, better than standard TV (425i) but worse than HD (720 or 1080). If you screen is 1920x1200 like mine, you will notice dvd's tend to not look there best in full screen mode because the 480 lines are stretched to meet your high resolution screen...

You should mess with the resolution settings -
I am having this very same problem. Did you manage to fix it?

What is your native screen resolution and to what resolution is it set?
PowerDVD runs well, as does VLC. I had no problems running it on the 15.4" WUXGA Dell i6000.
I find pixelation on WinDVD by Intervideo on both the WXGA HP DV1000 and WUXGA Dell i6000. -
My DVD software is DVD Plus by Sonic.
The native for a R1705 is 1920X1200.
Are you suggesting I should be using a different DVD software as opposed to trying to adjust DPI or Resolution? -
Sorry, An E1705

That would be up to you. I have tried different programs from what was installed to what came with my external DVD burner to what was installable from a DVD movie.
VLC works well and the settings can be customized.

But titan I am a bit confused here. Please be specific: are you suggesting that the DVD software could be the culprit here and NOT the screen/resolution/DPI?
I have no allegiance to DVD Plus (except that it is an upgrade and I paid for it, but that's neither here nor there) and am perfectly willing to try another software.
I'm just not certain this is software related. There is a reason this screen cannot accomodate a crisp, clear picture. Keep in mind when the screen is minimized to its smaller setter the picture quality is outstanding. Full screen is where things get grainy.
Does that sound like something the software could cause? Honest question.
