I've pretty much determined that the video card is dead.

What card would be an equivalent to the NVIDIA GeoForce Go 7800? (I dont see them for sale anymore).

Don't need anything fancier and I just what to ensure that the installation is as simple as possible.

The 7900 would be a better option has it runs a tad bit cooler and it's faster than the 7800. Though both come at a certain price that would make me think otherwise.

If you're still under warranty, try contacting Dell.

BTW, if your problem was related to heat issues, you could have tried I8kfanGUI. Did a fabulous job cooling my E1705 in the past. :)

I hope I am not breaking forum's rules. I have the x1400 256 MB video card for E1705 since it was upgraded with a 7900GS. Would you like to buy it?
